Château Trevarez, Brittany

 Château Trevarez, Brittany

This is the house that was used by Germany in World War 2 to house a Gestapo unit, and was bombed by the RAF to release the prisoners held there. The damage seen in the photo was inflicted in that bombing, and has never been repaired completely, as a reminder to history. That bombing raid was the basis of the movie ‘Mosquito Squadron’, and actual film of Trevarez can be seen in the movie.

Trevarez is famous for its rhododendrons, and also produces bonsai trees for sale and exhibition. Courses in bonsai training and production are held here and students attend from all over the world.
